Where We Are Now
Colonial Beach Community Heart & Soul is wrapping up Phase 2.
After gathering resident stories, we are now validating what we heard.
We have drafted (8) Community Value Statements using 'We' language to reflect our shared voice.
Please help us ensure these represent the voices of 22443 before we move to Phase 3, where these ideas will officially shape our future plans.
Phase 2: Connect
What’s Next:
Phases 3 + 4
Phase 3 is all about taking the ideas we heard during the story gathering process and developing “Action Plans” to guide future town planning. These action plans will be based on the finalized Heart & Soul Statements.
Phase 4 is when the Heart & Soul Statements are officially adopted by town and city councils, incorporated into comprehensive and other plans, and are used to guide future policies and decisions.

The real work of Community Heart & Soul begins upon completion of the four phases. Heart & Soul is an ongoing practice that provides municipal officials with a clear understanding of what matters most to residents and forges a partnership that builds on what everyone has in common: they all live here.
