“We VALUE safe and accessible neighborhoods, well-maintained infrastructure, connected sidewalks and pathways, public spaces, and opportunities for recreation that support residents of all ages and abilities.”

How This Statement Was Created

These Community Heart & Soul Statements were developed from hundreds of conversations, interviews, surveys, story circles, and community events conducted throughout the 22443 area. They reflect the values residents shared during the Community Heart & Soul process and are intended to help guide future discussions and decision-making.


What This Means

Residents frequently spoke about the importance of feeling safe, being able to move throughout the community, and having access to recreation and public spaces.


Many stories highlighted the need for connected sidewalks, infrastructure improvements, recreational opportunities, and public spaces that support residents throughout every stage of life.


This statement recognizes both the value residents place on these amenities and the desire to continue improving them throughout the 22443 area.


Why It Matters

Safe streets, accessible public spaces, reliable infrastructure, and recreation opportunities all contribute to quality of life. Residents identified these as important priorities for maintaining a healthy and connected community.
